What is jagua gel? Jagua is a fruit that grows in South America. The juice of this fruit is mixed with a few other natural ingredients to make jagua gel. Jagua gel yields a dark blue to black stain.

What is the difference between jagua gel and jagua henna? Jagua henna is a mix of henna and jagua juice whereas jagua gel does not contain any henna. Jagua gel yields a dark blue to black stain whereas jagua henna yields a dark brown to black stain. Jagua henna is opaque and has a creamy/stringy consistency like henna, whereas jagua gel is translucent and has a hair gel like consistency.

INGREDIENTS

Our jagua gel is made with a blend of organic jagua powder (dried jagua fruit juice), EU certified organic Bulgarian lavender essential oil, non-GMO xanthan gum, and organic cane sugar. We only use lavender essential oil as this is the safest kind of essential oil for children, pregnant women, and sensitive skin.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Each cone contains enough jagua gel to make 4 to 6 simple/medium designs. The tip diameter is 0.53 mm, which is good for creating details and bold designs. The jagua gel has a hair gel like consistency and yields a dark blue to black stain with proper aftercare.

STAIN PROGRESSION

Natural jagua stain darkens over time. When the jagua gel is washed away after 4 hours, the stain is very faint; some people don’t see any visible stain at all. With the right aftercare, over the next two days the stain becomes dark blue to black (see picture).

DIRECTIONS

1. Thaw cone for 30 minutes before use.

2. Apply jagua gel to skin and dry it completely. Keep still until the gel dries (30 to 40 minutes).

3. Keep the dried gel on skin for 4 to 6 hours (we recommend 6 hours for best results). Since the dried gel flakes off easily, you can apply a medical tape like Mefix to keep the gel adhered to the skin. DO NOT apply a sugar mixture to seal the gel as it will cause smudging.

4. Remove Mefix tape and wash the gel away with warm soapy water. You will feel the slimy texture of the gel as you wash it away. Keep washing until the skin stops feeling slimy.

5. Apply coconut oil or an aftercare balm on the fresh stain. This will help the stain darken to its full potential.

6. Avoid contact with water for 24 hours.

STORAGE

Since there are no preservatives added, the cones must be stored in the freezer and can be frozen for up to 6 months. Please thaw the cone for 30 minutes before use. The leftover cone can be frozen again until next use.

Jagua gel starts deteriorating after a few days if it is not frozen. This is why we only ship jagua gel cones to Canada via express shipping. Please freeze the cones immediately upon receiving your order. Curbside pickup is available from Scarborough, ON, Canada. For US customers, we do not recommend purchasing the cones due to long transit time and custom delays.
